Cool Background

This is a really neat background pattern you can make. I used it on one of my layouts and people seemed to really like it so I thought I would make a tutorial for it and here it is!

  • Open up a new image. Let's say make it 500x500.
  • Press D on your keyboard to set your colors to the default black and white setting.
  • Now go to the gradient tool, . If you don't see it right away, right click on the paint bucket tool and select it on the menu.
  • Now on the toolbar at the top click the arrow next to the gradien and choose the second black and white selection. Also set the mode on the scrolling menu to Difference like below.
  • Okay, click and drag your cursor all over the your new images. You get some neat looking designs. Keep doing this until your satisfied with the design you see.
  • Now go to Filter >> Distort >> Polar Coordinates and select the second option (Polar to Rectangular)
  • Don't worry your pretty design isn't gone! Go to Edit >> Fade Polar Coodinates.
  • A box will pop up. Choose Screen from the menu and make the opacity somewhere between 55 and 70. I chose 65 here which is a pretty good setting.
  • You're almost done! Just a few steps more! Press Ctrl and U at the same time.
  • A box will pop up. Check Colorize in the bottom right hand corner and mess around with the Hue and Saturation until you find a color you like!

Yours will look different, but here's how mine came out (I resized it by 50%)!
