Adjustable Grids

This is the second way to do grids in Paint Shop Pro. It's easier to customize than the first and I recommend this way more too.

  • Open up the desired image you'd like to put the grid on.

  • Also open up a new image. Make the new image transparent and choose a size. You can choose whatever you want. I used 5 x 5.

  • Now you're going to need to zoom in on your new image.
  • Click on the paintbrush icon and make sure the Tool Options is open. To do this go to View --> Toolbars and make sure Tool Options Palette is checked.
  • Now set your tool options menu to look like this:

  • Draw something like this on the tiny new image:

  • Go to Layers --> New Raster Layer and click Okay on the box that pops up.
  • Now go over to where it say styles on the right hand bar. It looks like this:

Press the little arrow and choose the picture of the nine dots.
  • Press on the box and another box should pop up. Click the arrow and scroll to the top; you should see tiled pictures of your images. One of them will be your tiny image. Here's an example of what it looks like.

  • Click on it and then click OK
  • Choose the fill tool, it looks like a paint bucket, and click on the image. There you're done! You should see the grids now! But if it's too much continue reading.

  • Go to Layers --> Properties and replace the opacity from 100 to something lighter like 35.
  • You can also save yourself some steps by going back to step 11 and when you click on the fill icon go to the tool options box and play with the opacity. It does about the same thing as the step right above.
  • And finally one last thing. You can use the eraser brush to erase parts of the grids. And don't forget when your finished to merg the images!
    And the result is:
