Sparklies

I'm going to teach you how to do three different types of sparklies: Normal, Colorized, and Chrome in this tutorial. Here is an example of all three:

  • Open a 200x200 black image
  • Click on the Picture Tube icon, it's the 7th icon from the bottom.
  • In the tool options palette click on the box and choose the purple stars. The text below it will say Sparklies or like on mine will say Stars.
  • You can play around with the scale and step, but I'm going to leave mine at Scale 100 and Step 200.
  • Okay now just click all over your black image so that you see stars everywhere.
  • Now if you like how this looks then you can end it right here or you can continue reading to learn how to do the other two effects.

    Colorizing

  • Go to Colors >> Colorize and play around with the Hue and Saturation to get the color you want.

    Chromed

  • Go to Effects >> Artistic Effects >> Chrome...
  • Now you can set the flaws, color, and brightness however you want. I set mine at Flaws 4, Brightness 50, and left the color at white
